Frequently asked questions

What is KwickVoice?
KwickVoice is hands-free voice ordering for full-service restaurants. A small wearable listens while your server reads the order back to the table, matches every item to your live menu, and sends a confirmed ticket to the kitchen in KwickOS.
Does KwickVoice replace the server?
No. The server takes the order and talks with the guest exactly as before. KwickVoice only removes the typing: it builds the ticket from the server's read-back.
Do guests need to do anything?
No. Guests order as they normally would. Nothing is installed at the table and guests do not use a device.
What happens if it mishears something?
Items KwickVoice is unsure about are highlighted on the server's confirm screen. By default nothing is sent to the kitchen until the server taps confirm, so the server can fix a line first.
Is conversation audio recorded or stored?
Audio is processed to build the order and then discarded rather than stored. The order itself is kept in your POS like any other order. Venues are responsible for any guest notice their local law requires.
Does it work in a noisy dining room?
KwickVoice listens for the server's read-back rather than trying to transcribe the whole table, which is the part of a loud interaction that is easiest to capture. Noise is one of the things each pilot measures.
Do I need KwickPOS or KwickOS?
KwickVoice is built into the KwickOS platform, so the ticket goes straight to your menu, floor plan and kitchen display. Tell us your current POS when you apply for the pilot.
What hardware is involved?
Servers wear a small audio device and use a companion confirm screen. We provide the hardware for pilot servers.
Which languages does it support?
Tell us which languages your team takes orders in when you apply. Language support is part of what we evaluate with each pilot restaurant.
Is KwickVoice available now?
KwickVoice is a working demo and our pilot program is open to full-service restaurants in the United States. General availability and pricing have not been announced.
How much does it cost?
Pricing for general availability has not been published. Pilot terms are agreed with each restaurant.
Is KwickVoice patented?
KwickVoice's read-back anchored ordering method is patent pending under U.S. Application No. 64/165,559.
